放送の解説では、clienteleは顧客全体を指す言い方。

When you take a chance, you try to do something
although there is a large risk of danger or failure.
take a chance = take chances 危険を冒す

therefore difficult to carry, wear, or handle.

dicey 不確かな、当てにできない、危険な
Something that is dicey is slightly dangerous or

リーダーズではdiceyの意味は
いちかばちかの、危険な、
（口）あてにできない、不確かな、あやふやな
ですが、ビニェットでは、
Calculating the amount of a tip can be dicey for anyone.
だれだってチップの額を計算するのは面倒でしょう。
と「面倒な」となっており、これは「不確か」だから
「面倒」ということなんでしょうかね。
tipですが、ビニエットではa tipと加算名詞になっています。
辞書でもそうなってました。aを付けるのは、そのものの
境界が認識できるものと、色々な本に書いてあります。
tipにはそういう境界があるとは思いませんが、
お札とかコインの集まりの全体像に境界があると
いうことなんでしょうね。
あまり深くは考えないことにしましょう。

この前New York行った時、ホテルのコンシェルジュに
レストランを教えてもらった後で、チップを2ドルあげたのですが、
これってどうなんでしょう？
そもそもコンシェルジュにはチップをあげる必要はない？
2ドルは多すぎる。1ドルでいい？
チップの悩みは尽きません。
