そろそろ手をつけないといけないし、図書館から借りた本
も読まないといけないし、チャングムも見ないといけないし、
ということでゆっくり英語に取り組めるのは土曜のみ、
という状態です。

販売会議で話をした。(on behalf of)

Marge talked at the selling meeting on behalf of his boss
because he got flu.

＜正解＞
Marge spoke on behalf of her boss at the sales conference
because he had the flu.

＜考察＞
talkとspeakの違いは何でしょうか。
Michael SwanのPractical English Usageによると、
There is little difference between speak and talk.とあります。



（２）コンピュータ業界の私のクライアントの一社は、お酒
が出る食事の席や会合ではいかなる契約も取り結ぶことを
禁じている（prohibit)

One of my client in computer industry prohibits to deal
any contract at meeting with alcohol.

＜正解＞
One of my clients in the computer business prohibits
the signing of any deals at a meal or meeting where
alcohol is served.

＜考察＞
「食事の席　at a meal」の違う言い方です。
Such talk is out of place at the dinner table.
そんな話は食事の席にふさわしくないよ。


（３）きょうやれることを明日まで引き伸ばすな。（put off)

＜正解＞
Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
