NHKラジオ ビジネス英会話 Lunch With Punch (5) 1/18-19, 2005
「ハートで感じる英文法」の2月号のテキストを昨日買いました。
ビジ英のテキストを14日に買って以来、テレビ講座のテキスト
があるかと書店に寄る毎日でしたが、18日にやっと販売されて
いるのを見つけました。
早速、2月号の第1回放送分の「否定」を読みましたが、
また、眼からウロコでした。部分否定がすっきりとわかった！
一方、2月号第2回放送の「時制の一致」はいまいちでした。
今までの文法解説とあまり変わらない気がしました。
とにかくこのテキストは番組の内容とかぶっていないので、
放送を見て二度勉強になる内容になっています。
音読 全体を1回

皆さんも自分で英作文をやってみましょう。
辞書、テキストは見てよいです。
あとスペルチェックも可としましょう。

idea と thought の違いをLongman Essential Activator
で調べました。
idea:
something that you think of and suggest to other
people, for example a plan of what someone should do
or a solution to a problem
thought:
an idea about what should happen or what someone
should do, which you suggest although you are
not sure if it is a good idea
thought はideaよりも「自信がない考え」に使うようです。
次に、join in と participateも調べました。
（私の回答はjoin in でないと明らかな間違いです。）
participate:
to take part in an activity, especially an organized activity
join in:
to start taking part in something that other people are
already doing, especially something enjoyable such as
game, or a song
join inは楽しいことに参加するという意味のようです。
会議には適していません。
（２）すこし振り返ってみて、どこで失敗したかをたどって
みようじゃないか。(backtrack)

（３）従業員が激しい感情の爆発を起こすのは、権威主義的
な経営をしている会社の場合が多いようだ。(outburst)

Companies that are managed authoritatively are likely to
have employees who break into outburst.
＜正解＞
Violent outbursts by employees seem to happen more often
in companies with an authoritarian management style.
＜考察＞
outburstが名詞なので、「激しい感情の爆発を起こす」と表現
させるのが難しいです。
Ａが起こるのはＢの場合が多いようだ
Ａ seem to happen more often in Ｂ
seem to happen more oftenというパターンはGoogleで820件
ありました。
