「最強集団ホットグループ奇跡の法則」という本を読みました。
なかなか熱い本です。
組織の言うことなど聞かず、ミッションを達成することだけを
目的とする熱い奴ら、それをホットグループと呼ぶそうです。
以前、プロジェクトXというNHKの番組が人気を集めましたが、
あれに出てくる熱い集団がホットグループと考えればわかりやすいでしょう。
これまでも世界中のあらゆる所で、ホットグループが様々な成果
を上げてきました。
組織からするとホットグループは扱いにくいので、往々にして
つぶしにかかりますが、これからの変化の激しい時代にはますます
ホットグループが必要となるのです。

costについて、ジーニアスの語法に「進行形・受身形は不可。ただし
比較級を伴うなど推移・変化を表す場合には進行形が可：
Eggs have been costing more since last month.
先月以来、卵はだんだん値上がりしている」と記載されています。
この語法は、cost の「人に＜金額・費用＞がかかる」という意味に
ついて述べているのであり、「人に＜損失・犠牲＞を払わせる」という
意味について、記載しているのではないと思います。
和麿さんが上げられた上記の「ビジネス英会話」の例文は、
「人に＜損失・犠牲＞を払わせる」という意味で使われているのだと思います。
しかし、OALDのcostの項に、This is costing the taxpayer L10 billion a year.
という例文もでていますし、

を初め、Googleには、おびただしい数のcostの進行形の例文が出てきます。
「比較級を伴うなど推移・変化を表す場合」以外でも、costの進行形は沢山出てきます。
また、「ふつう、進行形にしない動詞」というタイトルで、どの英文法の
参考書も扱っていますが、costは、その、「ふつう進行形にしない動詞」
には、入っていません。以上から考えて、ジ?ニアス英和辞典第４版のcost
の語法の説明は、少し、幅が狭いような気がします。
