NHKラジオ　ビジネス英会話　Stress Control (6) 5/11-12 2007 今日日曜日に部下の結婚披露宴に出席し乾杯の挨拶をすることになっています。

乾杯の挨拶は初めてなのでWEBで調べたところ

　「乾杯の挨拶と●●は短ければ短いほど良い」

とも言われているようです。

結局お決まりのせりふになりそうです。

いつもお世話になっております。和磨です。
総復習していたら、P10において、2点ほど、質問が生じました。

1) P10L1の、you are as worried about Rita as I am.という文章で、as asの間に形容詞、副詞以外を挿入する例文をはじめて見ました。通常は、you are worried about Rita as much as I am.と表現するのではないでしょうか。このように、過去分詞をas asの間に挿入するケースも多いのでしょうか？

2)P10のWuの発言の、she is hurting at work.という文章で、通常、hurtは他動詞として用いられる事が多いと思います。she is hurt by work.と表現するのとニアンスが異なるのでしょうか？

総復習、、、私も見習わなければいけません。

1)ですが、as asの間がかなり長くなる例は他でも見るように思います。Practical English Usageを見たところ、長くなる用例は見つかりませんでした。

2)は、hurtが通常他動詞で使われるかどうかはわかりませんが、辞書には自動詞としても載っていますので問題ないと思います。ニュアンスの違いはわかりません。

他の読者の方でご意見ありましたらお願いします。

as a result. You can also say that your neck is on the line.

You can also say that someone puts their ass on the line.

what is expected or required of them. 'Come up with' and
'produce' are sometimes used instead of 'deliver'.
