今回のKey Phrases to Rememberの3つ目の例文、

a lot of responsibility early on and rewarded overachievers
with hefty bonuses and rapid pmomotion.
The once zealous staff simply stopped coming up with new ideas.
I guess that might be because intense pressure from management
to deliver encouraged a survival-of-the-fittest mentality
that killed the incentive to take risks.

コウビルドによると、
asseritiveと同じく、強く自信のある調子で話したり行動したり
する言葉に以下のものがありますが、positive/neativeに分かれます。
assertive, forceful, positive, self-confident, strong-willed
は、いづれもほめ言葉です。
aggressive, domineering, in-your-face, overbearing, pushy
は、いづれもネガティブな言葉です。
この中でもaggressiveは悪い意味なので注意が必要です。
